TPS/FPS Checking
The CTPS (Corporate Telephone Preference Service), TPS (Telephone Preference Services) and FPS (Fax Preference Service) regulations mean you can neither make an unsolicited call nor send an unsolicited fax to individuals or companies in the UK without screening against the appropriate suppression list.

Both Consumers and Corporate companies not wishing to receive unsolicited calls or faxes can register with the Telephone and Fax Preference Services (CTPS / TPS / FPS).

With this in mind, Halo Data will screen your Telephone/Fax numbers against the relevant Preference list every month for a year when you pay for one month. Yes, that is buy 1 get 11 free. Not only does that avoid the current implications of calling/faxing a registered number (potentially a fine of up to £5,000) but it also saves you money for a whole 12 months.

Why not call our Sales Team now for more information on 0870 48 74 100.

Q: What are the CTPS, TPS and FPS?

TPS stands for the Telephone Preference Service
This is a suppression list operated by the DMA and holds all the telephone numbers of those individuals, sole traders and partnerships who do not wish to receive unsolicited marketing calls.

CTPS stands for the Corporate Telephone Preference Service
This is a suppression list operated by the DMA and holds all the telephone numbers of those Ltd and plc companies who do not wish to receive unsolicited marketing calls.

FPS stands for the Fax Preference Service
This is a suppression list operated by the DMA and holds all the fax numbers of those companies, individuals, sole traders and partnerships who do not wish to receive unsolicited marketing faxes.

Q: Why should I use these lists?

There are a number of reasons for using these lists.

  1. You have a moral and professional obligation to not fax or call entities who have specifically requested not to be contacted
  2. Regulations that have been in force now for some time now state that to call or fax any of these numbers could result in a fine of £5,000
  3. You will receive time consuming complaints from those registered on the list if you do not suppress your campaigns against them
  4. You could face prosecution from the members of the list directly if they receive either a call or fax from you
